The Government of Barbados and the Government of the United Arab Emirates have established a Memorandum of Understanding framework aimed at improving and developing activities and practices of government through exchanging knowledge, experience, best practice and mutual expertise. As a result of this cooperation, the Government of Barbados through the Ministry of the Public Service is pleased to invite nominations for the Government Experience Exchange Future Leaders Programme (GEEP) to commence November 2024.
This capacity building programme targets public sector officers at the level of Deputy Permanent Secretary, Head of Departments and related grades, project managers, team leads and those officers who may be poised for executive level succession preparation.
The programme will be delivered in a virtual learning format and the core elements are:
• How to become an authentic leader
• Agile Government
• Better Policy Making
• Government services
• Leading disruptive innovation
Application Procedure
Prospective candidates are required to complete an application form and submit a personal statement/essay (1000-1500 words) outlining their interest in the programme, and how participating in the GEEP will benefit their organisation and the wider Public Service/ Barbados. Applications are to be submitted to the Learning and Development Directorate by email to LD@mps.gov.bb no later than October 15, 2024.
The Selection Committee will review all applications to determine suitability, taking into consideration knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience, and the submitted justification for selection.
Please note that successful candidates will be required to participate in a digital assessment survey covering the following topics at the registration stage: -
• Emotional intelligence
• Happiness and well being
• Personality analysis
• Cognitive ability
• Leadership judgement
