Onboarding and Orientation
Unlocking Public Service Excellence Consistently
The Ministry of the Public Service implemented new onboarding and orientation processes for public officers with effect from 1st October 2019.
These Processes Encompass:
Onboarding - which is a series of events (including orientation) that helps employees understand how to be successful in their day-to-day job and how their work contributes to the overall business. Combined, it is the information every member of a work team needs in order to do the best work.
Employee Orientation - is the process of introducing new employees to their jobs, co-workers, responsibilities, and workplace. It allows employees the chance to feel comfortable within their new colleagues, departments, and roles within the organisation.
Onboarding and Orientation Guidelines were developed to assist with the process. The aim is to provide a more structured overview of the role of the Ministry of the Public Service and the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies in successfully onboarding employees, whether they are new entrants or transfers between ministries/departments.
